Thematic significance is the moral, statement, or universal truth an author is conveying to their readers through their short stories, novels, or plays. It's the actual message a story's theme is about and more detailed than the themes of stories. For example, a writer's theme could be the common theme of good vs. evil, but the thematic significance could be "Good always overcomes evil." Now, let's dive into how thematic significance plays a large role in the direction of the story elements in writer's stories. 🔍

HOW THEMATIC SIGNIFICANCE HELPS AUTHORS' STORIES
So, why is thematic significance important?

Thematic significance is important because it gives more depth and meaning to stories and it can act as a compass for the entirety of authors' stories, such as how they develop their characters or character arcs, how they direct and structure their plots, how to setup and arrange settings, props, motifs, or symbolism, and how to guide story dialogue and their characters' actions, reactions, and interactions.
The thematic message or thematic significance can also make stories more memorable and inspirational to readers, and especially for Christian fiction novels and short stories as most Christian fiction is based off some kind of universal truth, the Gospel, or religious scriptural text, just as Jesus told parables to people to explain spiritual lessons.
CLOSING REMARKS:

If you've never included thematic significance in your stories, consider doing so next time in one of your short stories and novels. It could be the thing that makes your books standout a little more, tugs at the hearts of your readers, and keeps them more engaged in your writing. Well, that's it for this post.
